Hi Vince, thank you for getting in touch and I'm glad you like my site! You know, I had this thought while writing the post as it's not uncommon that the comedy-star of a SitCom will be a co-writer with another person, but when I researched it, the places I checked just said that Jack Dee was the writer. I will change the post to include Pete Sinclair as I understand what you mean about how frustrating it can be to be ignored, though I doubt I have enough readers to cause any upset! Thanks, Becca.

Hi Becca, I am enjoying your pieces on comedy and it is obvious you are serious about your analysis of the genre. For this reason I am sure you will appreciate my adding a comment about the author of Lead Balloon. You have repeated the common and simplistic notion that Jack Dee was the writer when in fact it is credited as co-written with Pete Sinclair. As someone who writes yourself you should sympathise with this being mentioned. As you are probably aware the writer is often overlooked if there is a star performer involved. Incidentally, I knew this because recently I read a blog by James Cary, himself a Sitcom writer (Miranda, Bluestone 42), whose blog, Sitcom Geek, is worth following if you don't already. Keep up the good work. Vince
